There is no greater example of loving service than that seen in a mother. It’s remarkable the great sacrifice a mom makes for her children when they’re feeling sick or struggling with something in their life.
The apostle Paul served with this kind of love. In his letter to the Christians in Thessalonica, he wrote, “We were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children… we were well pleased to impart to you… our own lives, because you had become dear to us” (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8).
Is your service energized by love? Do you show love to those you serve? “Love is patient and kind. Love does not become angry easily. Love patiently accepts all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
Lord, I thank You for Your constant love for me. The desire of my heart is to pour out the love You have shown me to those I meet today, starting right under my own roof. Amen.
